study GCSE astronomy as an extra-curricula subject. The
course is being run by Mrs. Fidler and Mr Jackson who
decided to offer students this opportunity in

"When I was offered astronomy, I jumped to the chance! I
love the thought of what is outside our own planet and

Revision Rocks @ Priory
Posted 2nd March 2009
Next time you see a Priory pupil walking along
the road with their iPod earphones in their ears don't
jump to the conclusion that they are listening to the
latest tracks by the likes of Duffy or Kings of Leon as
they could actually be revising!
Eleven pupils were
selected to visit
Rock Fm and take
part in a podcasting
revision session for
English and Maths.
The
content of the podcasts were English and Maths revision
techniques using an interesting script with “5 Steps to
Success” in their chosen area. These scripts were then
recorded and music is added as a background to the
scripts.

thrilled to hear

winning herself £50.
We were
not to be
disappointed with
the announcement of
the winner of the
competition - Emma

very proud moment
for Priory and we
would like to

On Tuesday 9th December 2008
a group of Priory's Performing Arts

Show ‘Live’. As well as
seeing the main fashion show event there was lots of
opportunity to shop at the many retail outlets present
at the event. The main fashion show was presented by
Vernon Kay and there
was also a fantastic
performance from the "Saturdays" who performed their hit

On Wednesday 17th December
2008 Matt Shewbridge from Starchaser presented Year 11

demonstrations about Starchaser and building rockets.
The pupils then set about designing and building their

the rockets on the school field. Who's rocket travelled
the furthest? Who's won best design? ............ and
who's spiralled and went sideways, (there's always one!)

School Production
- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Posted 3rd January 2009
A very big "well done" to everyone involved in
the school's production of Joseph and the
Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the end of last
term. This was another fantastic production and
certainly one which lived up to the very high
expectations everyone now has of productions at
Priory. These productions don't just happen
overnight and the end results were certainly an
indication of all of the hard work that had been
done prior to the productions themselves.
Photo's of the production will appear very
shortly, watch this space! |
