Nursing Team

Burscough Priory's School Nursing Team

The school nurses work all year round and are based at Burscough Health Centre, Lord Street, Burscough.

The role of the school nurse is to monitor young peoples' health and promote Healhy Lifestyles. We provide a variety of services such as health promotion, developmental screening, undertake health interviews and administer the immunisation programme.

Girls in Year 8 are currently offered the HPV vaccine and both Year 10 girls and boys are offered the DTP vaccine (website).

The School Health Team also run a weekly "drop in" clinic. This is held on a Wednesday lunchtime, 1:10 - 1:50pm in the school's ECM Centre.

This is a confidential service available to all young people. Although this service is confidential, there may be times when the School Nurse needs to break confidentiality (for example, if a nurse thinks the young person may be at risk from significant harm).

The school nurse can be contacted by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
