ICT Functional skills

This is compulsory for all year 10 and 11 classes not completing GCSE ICT and essential for all college/apprentice and job application forms. This qualification is worth 1/2 GCSE and 10 UCAS points.

There is one 2 hour exam in year 11 which will take place on the computers.

The exam provides realistic contexts, scenarios and problems drawn from everyday life, the community, the workplace or educational settings, and specifies tasks relevant to the context.

It requires the students to apply their knowledge, skills and understanding for a purpose, and involves problem solving.

A section of the exam has a simulated Internet and e-mail activity.
