Headteacher Statement

We know that our students at Priory are Outstanding young people. As staff and governors, we inspire them to believe in themselves and to strive relentlessly to achieve their potential in all aspects of their lives. It takes a community to educate a child. Therefore, we strive to work closely with all members of our school and wider community to ensure that our young people are equipped with everything needed for a successful, happy life, both today and in preparation for their future in the 21C.

We believe our students should not just attain the highest in terms of academic qualifications but equally that they develop an understanding and ability to take their place in the wider world with the ‘cultural capital’ needed to succeed in life. Therefore, we continually seek opportunities to develop personal, social, moral codes and independent thinking and learning skills that they can apply to any given situation. Students at Priory are encouraged to aim high in every aspect of their world and to be respectful, articulate, show high levels of self discipline, empathy and understanding towards others. We scan constantly to provide opportunities for our young people to develop initiative, collaboration, creativity and leadership. This is to empower and enable them to have a real impact in the world around them - from today!

For students to flourish and to be truly successful, we strongly believe that they need to learn in an environment where the highest standards are consistently modelled by all members of their community, in a culture where learning is fun, exciting and inspirational. Therefore, staff at Priory are equally committed to continual life-long learning and development. We don’t want our young people merely to take their place in the world but to be directly involved in leading and shaping it!
