Burscough Priory High School's new £1.2 million pound Science and Performing Arts block, funded as a joint initiative by the School and the LEA, was completed and handed over in time for the start of the new school year in September 2004.

Although this new facility has been a totally separate project from the Schools Specialist Schools Status bid, its opening had been timed in anticipation of the school being awarded  Science College Status.

The new two story building will provide the school with state of the art teaching facilities to further enhance and support the teaching of these two subject areas.

It will also  provide the facilities needed by the Science Department to deliver the very high standard of tuition as detailed in the Science College bid document

The second floor has been given over to Performing Arts. It comprises of a drama studio, two music rooms, a recording studio and three practice rooms which will provide a much improved environment for instrumental and vocal tuition.  These new performing arts facilities also provide an enhanced environment in which to continue to develop the schools very high reputation with respect to the staging of very successful musicals and other shows.
